Abstract

In this article, we aim to analyze the use of the instrument - mediated narrative interview in research on teacher identity in two contexts: PIBID - Institutional Scholarship Program Introduction to Teaching and Education of Youths and Adults. Therefore, we use the thematic dialogical analysis to analyze a master's dissertation, two articles and a research report. The use of the instrument-mediated narrative interview has favored the construction of investigative contexts that provoke the self-talk through the interviewee's interaction with an object that is referred to
its history. In the case of research on teacher identity, the use of instruments has favored the positioning of the person as teacher.
