The work aims to discuss the idea of creative idleness of Domenico de Masi (2000; 2017; 2020), in an attempt to hermeneutically understand his perspectives and developments in education. Creative idleness encompasses three dimensions: working to produce riches and learning from the other; study to create new knowledge; and play to generate well-being. From the debates raised with the formative interfaces of creative idleness, we propose to question and build creative bridges to the development of human globality. We conclude that education needs to promote the experience of creative idleness, from the perspective of the metamorphoses of the process of forming in free time, since the process of knowledge implies recognizing the potential recreator of the subject.
