Procura-se mostrar as implicações do Plano de Desenvolvimento da Escola (PDE), componente do Programa do Fundo de Fortalecimento da Escola (Fundescola), na reestruturação do sistema estadual de ensino do Tocantins (TO), particularmente no que concerne à s mudanças na organização e gestão escolar, tendo-se por referência resultado de pesquisa sobre o impacto do PDE nas escolas públicas desse Estado.
