Este artigo discute a importância dos métodos ativos no estabelecimento de um novo paradigma na Educação. As proposições morenianas são relacionadas às perspectivas interacionistas c construtivistas. São apresentados dados da realidade educacional brasileira que mostram as dificuldades para se estabelecer uma aprendizagem vivencial que sustente a diversidade de significados atribuidos pelos educandos. São defendidas políticas que fomentem a participação ativa dos educandos em seu processo de mudança, ainda que inseridos em velhos paradigmas.
