Portuguese as a Heritage Language, Portuguese as a Host LanguageAbstract
Those impacted by migratory flows resulting from the current scenario of deepening capital crises have prompted educators to look more closely at Portuguese teaching and learning processes in different contexts. To address these issues, I present the book The Teaching of Portuguese in Brazil – a heritage, a welcome (2020). This is a collection of five chapters by researchers who address educational policies, teacher training, pedagogical practices and identity issues in language learning from the perspective of Portuguese as a Heritage Language (POLH) and Portuguese as a Host Language (PLAc).
