Abstract

This paper presents selected findings of three empirical surveys concerning dictionary use in the Greek educational system. Dictionary use was examined by means of a questionnaire administered to 192 primary school pupils, 340 undergraduate university students, and 182 primary schools teachers and Greek language teachers in secondary schools. The three surveys provided first-hand data for findings that revealed certain tendencies and offered answers to basic questions in one of the least examined areas in Greek educational research. The findings may also be useful to other researches internationally.
