A écfrase na poesia de Richard Siken: uma tradução de “Portrait of Fryderyk in Shifting Light”

Com a publicação de War of the Foxes (2015), a poesia de Richard Siken, caracterizada pelo verso livre e uma estética cinematográfica, volta-se bastante para as artes plásticas, em um constante diálogo com a pintura, utilizando a écfrase como recurso retórico. Neste artigo, a fim de propor uma tradução para um dos poemas da coletânea que exemplifique esse diálogo, examino aspectos ecfrásticos da estética de Siken por meio de uma breve análise dos poemas “Portrait of Fryderyk in Shifting Light” e “Three Proofs”. A discussão do espaço dessa ferramenta na estética do poeta permite buscar soluções para manter os elementos encontrados nos poemas em uma tradução para o português, o que possibilita um melhor conhecimento acerca do desempenho das escolhas referentes às características dessa atividade na poesia. É apresentada, portanto, uma proposta de tradução para o poema “Portrait of Fryderyk in Shifting Light”, assim como comentários acerca do processo tradutório.
