Vocativos en los subtítulos en español de Ciudad de Dios

Este artículo analiza la traducción de vocativos en los subtítulos en español de la película Ciudad de Dios (2002), desde un enfoque intersemiótico de la traducción audiovisual. Los vocativos, por su carga sociopragmática, son fundamentales para construir relaciones de poder e identidad social entre los personajes. El estudio clasifica 108 vocativos según la técnica de traducción utilizada (adecuada, inadecuada, neutralización, omisión) y la dinámica de poder en cada escena. Los resultados muestran una alta frecuencia de omisiones, especialmente en interacciones asimétricas, aunque en la mayoría de los casos se observa alguna forma de compensación visual o sonora. El análisis sugiere que, si bien las traducciones tienden a suavizar las expresiones marcadas culturalmente, la naturaleza multimodal del cine permite conservar parcialmente los efectos pragmáticos del original.
