O livro Corpus-based Translation Studies, de Kaibao Hu responde questionamentos gerais sobre Estudos da Tradução Baseados em Corpus. O volume discorre sobre temas importantes para a evolução dos Estudos da Tradução Baseados em Corpus. Os objetivos de sua publicação foram: proporcionar considerações sobre as principais áreas dos Estudos da Tradução Baseados em Corpus e tentar fornecer fundamentação teórica tencionando estabelecer o campo de pesquisa como um novo paradigma nos Estudos da Tradução (EdT). A área é apresentada como um campo promissor, apesar de ainda estar em seu estágio inicial de desenvolvimento. Suas referências metodológicas e suas práticas são validadas por meio da pesquisa empirista que os ETBC propõem, além de facilitarem a difusão de investigações com abordagens tanto qualitativas como quantitativas para o campo em questão.
