O trabalho examina o polêmico livro de autoria feminina escrito em defesa da mulher contra a misoginia: Le livre de la cité des dames (c. 1405) [O livro da cidade das damas], de Christine de Pizan, uma das mais representativas vozes dos círculos intelectuais femininos da Idade Média. Ele analisa a obra em questão vis-Ã -vis pontos da sua releitura de pronunciamentos clássicos de autoria masculina acerca da construção derrogatória da figura social e do imaginário cultural sobre a mulher.
