O presente trabalho pretende abordar a tradução feita pelo poeta espanhol León Felipe de Song of Myself, de Walt Whitman, a fim de analisá-la a partir de suas relações com a Guerra Civil Espanhola e a experiência do exílio. Propõe-se refletir sobre a recriação tanto do poema quanto do eu-lírico whitmaniano, abordando-os como respostas líricas à experiência traumática da guerra e do exílio.
