2021, v. 20: Thematic dossier: (FL, L2, Aditional language) Language teaching in times of crisis
 2020-10-13

In the midst of the health emergency caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, people around the world have had to reframe the way they relate due to the necessary social distance that is necessary. In schools, cancellation and suspension of classes, or the rush to discover, implement and employ digital technologies to keep teaching. In this scenario, people. Teachers, students, coordinators, directors, government officials. Parents, children. The necessary social distance has brought changes in how people in all teaching and learning contexts relate. Such relationships, however, do still happen by means of language.

For this thematic dossier, we call for papers that address the theme of how the pedagogical actions of planning, mediating, learning and teaching languages ”‹”‹are impacted by moments of crisis and adversity.

We will accept articles that deal with coping actions through teaching policies, didactic-pedagogical planning and implementation, innovative methodologies and materials, assessment of learning and proficiency, emotions of students, teachers and parents involved in this process of adaptation, among other related topics.

We are especially interested in empirical articles, which present results of analysis of data collected during serious crises, especially - but not only - the current pandemic, as well as theoretical articles that discuss Applied Linguistics in facing several adversities.
