O trabalho examina e discute o termo “mulher” no contexto de algumas correntes do feminismo contemporâneo. Quando os estudos feministas se consolidaram no Brasil, na década de 1980, o conceito era pouco questionado e tinha uma nuance bastante essencialista, calcada na noção de experiência. Com a emergência e disseminação dos estudos de gênero e das teorias pósmodernas, adquiriu sentidos mais performativos, provisórios e supostamente menos políticos. Ao problematizar algumas dessas noções, procura-se abrir o debate para a comunidade de pesquisadoras sobre a mulher e a literatura.
