KOUROUMA AND DICTIONARIES, ACHEBE AND INTERPRETERS: TRANSLATING THE MIMESIS OF DECAY
Keywords:
Ahmadou Kourouma. Chinua Achebe. Tradução. Composite language. Cultual mediation.Abstract
This article aims at stablishing a parallel analysis between novels by Ahmadou Kourouma and Chinua Achebe, considering the narrative elements that refer to the representation of their narrators and characters as translators/interpreters of their cultural, social and political contexts. It intends to analyze how these writers, as ‘translated authors’ build their composite literary languages, using French and the English language as a basis for mediation between their Malinque and Igbo universes in the contexts of war and colonization.
