Rumo a uma virada sociocultural no ensino da tradução: uma perspectiva canadense

Embora a teoria contemporânea da tradução esteja começando a reconciliar as abordagens culturais e linguísticas da tradução, isso está longe de ser o caso na pedagogia e no currículo da tradução. Este artigo argumentará a favor de uma virada sociocultural na pedagogia da tradução e na concepção curricular no que se refere especificamente ao contexto canadense/quebequense, onde as dimensões sociais, políticas e econômicas da prática da tradução e seu lugar dentro da área mais ampla de comunicação intercultural no Canadá difere dependendo se o tradutor trabalha com o inglês ou o francês. As questões examinadas incluem a reformulação do currículo para destacar as funções socioculturais da tradução, integrando cultura e pedagogia, e identificando as implicações teóricas de uma virada cultural no ensino da tradução.
