José Rubens Siqueira has been an art professional since the 1960 and has translated different names of the foreign literature, like Toni Morrison, Shakespeare, Mario Vargas Llosa, Vladimir Nabokov and Anne Enright. The interview was given in March 2021 by videoconference. The aim was to understand better his work as a translator, since he is already well known for his productions in the theatre and cinema. In our conversation, Siqueira shared his opinion on the act of translating, the process he adopts and answered some doubts regarding his translation of the Irish book The Gathering, by Anne Enright, published in 2008 by Alfaguara.
