This short essay addresses the relations between translation projects and sexual difference considering three texts: Re-Belle et Infidèle / The Body Bilingual: Translation as a Re-Writing in the Feminine (1991), by Susanne de Lotbinière-Harwood; the web blog Translating Herculine, developed from the Herculine Barbin diary edited by Michel Foucault (1978), authored by researcher Emily Rose; and the translation of The Little Prince by Julia Bucci (2018), part of the feminist publishing project Ethos traductora, in Buenos Aires. The aim is to see how translation strategies and criteria are deployed in these texts to make the sexual difference visible in the translated language in combinations between feminist theory and formal experimentation.
