Vocational training in Spain: effects on employment in times of crisis

As a consequence of the economic crisis of 2008, the unemployment has increased significantly in Spain, particularly among young people. In this context vocational education has been considered an indispensable tool to improve the employability of the population, improving their position in the labour market. This article analyses the relationship between vocational training and employability in Spain. With this objective, the article explores the impact of the crisis economic on vocational education and the effect of this education level on the transition between education and labour market of its graduates.
