A proposta de organização de um dossiê sobre o pensamento de Paulo Freire surgiu em função da Semana Universitária da Universidade de Brasília (UnB) de 2011 – 90 anos de Paulo Freire: um marco para a reflexão sobre os rumos da uni-versidade Brasileira, organizada pelo Decanato de Extensão (DEX), em parceria com institutos, faculdades e departamentos da UnB e instituições governamentais e não governamentais para a apresentação, socialização e discussão de atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão.
