Este artigo apresenta um estudo dos principais marcos do movimento negro estadunidense e as “batalhas pela memoria” que o cercam a partir dos quadrinhos e da série de animação The Boondokcs. Discutimos brevemente as relações entre história, memória e audiovisual e identificamos as características gerais do movimento. Igualmente, apresentamos como The Boondokcs cria e recria memórias sobre o movimento negro e suas figuras-chave.
