Apresentação: A tradução e a infância: história, teoria, ensino e prática

A tradução de literatura para crianças e jovens tem conquistado importante espaço nas pesquisas acadêmicas no Brasil e no exterior. Este número regular temático da Revista Belas Infiéis (v. 8, n. 3) insere-se numa sequência de iniciativas no campo dos Estudos da Tradução para fomentar e sistematizar as investigações envolvendo a literatura infantil. Entre algumas publicações e eventos recentes especificamente dedicados ao tema, destacamos o número especial da revista canadense Meta (v. 48, n. 1-2), organizado, pela finlandesa Riitta Oittinen em 2003, a edição temática da revista Cadernos de Tradução, da UFSC (v. 36, n. 1), em 2016, e o congresso Translation Studies and Children's Literature, realizado pelas universidades de Leuven e de Antuérpia em 2017. Com a edição deste número, pretendemos dar relevo aos trabalhos desenvolvidos por pesquisadores brasileiros, bem como difundir aqui pesquisas oriundas de outros países, buscando uma integração internacional favorável ao desenvolvimento da área.
