Resumo

Este trabalho pretende explorar o modo em que a interpretação, como forma de tradução, contribui (ou não) com os processos transnacionais de produção e com a difusão de uma agenda de gênero latino-americana. Nesta pesquisa, fazemos um breve apanhado dos estudos de gênero no campo da interpretação e, a seguir, propomos as formas de materialização da subjetividade presentes no discurso mediado pela interpretação simultânea nas conferências do espanhol ao inglês no âmbito da comissão da ONU sobre a Situação das Mulheres (CSW). Vale salientar que esta comissão é um dos fóruns internacionais de maior envergadura na promoção dos direitos das mulheres nas áreas política, econômica, civil, social e educacional. Mediante a análise qualitativa de casos, examinamos os mecanismos de focalização sintática presentes nos discursos interpretados e seu impacto sobre a configuração da subjetividade. Partimos da hipótese de que tais mecanismos operam ativamente na (re)criação de práticas discursivas institucionalmente arraigadas/validadas. Os resultados mostram que certos fenômenos de focalização sintática acabam atenuando uma agenda de gênero vinculada à luta contra as iniquidades de gênero e contra os estereótipos amoldados às normas heteronormativas e patriarcais próprias de culturas majoritárias.
