O dia que a Terra disse basta!

A cada ano, nosso Planeta atinge a sua biocapacidade mais cedo. Neste ano de 2016, atingimos esse patamar no início deste mês de agosto. Isso quer dizer que mais uma vez a humanidade usou todos os recursos naturais disponíveis para o ano inteiro em menos de oito meses. Oito de agosto foi, tristemente, o Dia de Sobrecarga da Terra, conhecido em inglês como Overshoot Day. A data marca o momento em que a demanda sobre a natureza supera a sua capacidade de se regenerar durante o ano. De 8 de agosto de 2016 em diante, então, estamos no vermelho com o meio ambiente. Não pagamos juros..., mas, seguramente, nossos filhos sentirão as consequências.
