Abstract

This study was to analyze literary works, identifying some broached conceptions of schooling literacy and reading, beyond considering possible results of the mentioned literature to children empowerment in school environment. We defend the thesis that children’s literature can and must be used as an instrument
of mediation to children social literacy. It justifies the importance of adequate care in the moment of work’s choice and use at school. The results in favor of children social literacy empowerment and of readers development depend on mainly the pedagogical work to be developed by teacher literature reader.
