A tradução do poema Achilles to Patroclus (SIEHL, 2016) surgiu de um exercício em sala, proposto pelo professor Rodrigo Tadeu Gonçalves, em 2017, na Universidade Federal do Paraná. A linguagem acessível e o suspense criado por certas escolhas estruturais realizadas pela autora foram aspectos considerados valiosos no texto fonte, que acabaram sendo estabelecidos como norte tradutório e guiaram boa parte das decisões que construíram o texto traduzido. Tendo essas questões em perspectiva, espera-se que a tradução exiba o claramente o relacionamento amoroso entre as personagens presentes no título, utilizando-se de uma linguagem que evite ao máximo o rebuscamento, e conserve o efeito dramático causado pelas quebras de versos e estrofes.
