Da tradutologia às ciências da tradução?

Este artigo examina as fronteiras da tradutologia tal qual ela se diversifica atualmente. Discute-se de início a circulação das ideias e temas tratados em tradutologia, especialmente na França, e suas relações com as disciplinas das quais a tradutologia “literária” procurou se distinguir enquanto com elas dialogava dialeticamente ao mesmo tempo a elas se referindo. Ademais, ensaiando uma análise do avanço “pragmático” que acompanha a demanda exponencial de traduções técnicas, científicas e especializadas bem como a necessidade de formar tradutores, o artigo mostra como se define uma nova orientação cognitiva desta tradutologia, herdeira da tradição funcionalista, interpretativa e finalista, no entanto, assombrada pelos paradigmas da tradução literária.
