Urban voids: The contribution of Agroecology to the use of spaces

This research analyzes the potential of urban voids for Agroecology, discussing how these fragmented spaces can mitigate landscape impacts and promote urban food security. The objective was to analyze and compare draft laws on urban gardens in the cities of Varginha and Sete Lagoas, to understand their implementation, motivations, and impacts. Through the case study, the resilience of these voids and the viability of reframing them as green "breathers" in dense cities were demonstrated. It is expected that this work will serve as a basis for future research on the themes of urbanism, urban voids, territorial occupations, and urban community gardens in cities that intend to have public policies similar to those presented here.
