Abstract

The experience of training history professors at Ponta Grossa State University through historical and didactic film analysis is presented and discussed. The proposal is based on a pedagogical posture that favors active methods and a methodological proposal that focuses on films as historical sources to be studied by teachers and students. The procedure for the operation of the films in class at the university and in the schools is presented, as well as a small balance of the works chosen and the options for approaches taken. It concludes that the choices made by university students have expressed their film culture, as well as the desire to innovate in relation to the traditional themes of school curricula.
