SADIE PLANT E O PROCESSO DE FEMINIZAÇÃO DA CULTURA COMO FEMINISMO ACELERACIONISTA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Susanna Paasonen says that Sadie Plant is one of the theorists who analyzed the feminist movement in the fields of technology and networks in the 90s and coined the term cyberfeminism - a name formed by the combination of the terms feminism and cybernetics, a word that at that time designate the computational and immersive technological scope of the internet ”“ also that Plant was a pioneer in theorizing the feminization of culture, in addition to being one of the best known and most read cyberfeminist authors in the 90s. Plant also launched his own feminist manifesto, entitled “Feminisations: Reflections on Women and Virtual Reality” (launched in 1996), proposing an acceleration of the cybernetic process, which is nothing more than a process of feminization of culture. This work aims to analyze this feminization process in Plant's work called “Mulher Digital: o feminino e as novas tecnologias” (from 1997). Despite being a work rich in information and historical, technological and biological aspects, I opt for a more restricted cut, dividing the work in four parts: the first presenting the author; the second, a brief summary of the work; the third, the feminization process based on two imagery modulations about the feminine: weaver and gap; and the fourth part that thinks of this process as an accelerationist feminism.
