Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Revista Das Questões is a biannual journal that seeks to disseminate theoretical or practical studies in the field of arts, philosophy and translation, in the form of essays. It also has sections of fragments, translations and manifests and interviews. Issues are themed and the call for articles happens through the magazine's [call for articles] website. Submissions of articles must be made exclusively by the journal system, through a user registration. In order to be submitted to the Editorial Board, the works, which can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and German, must meet the following requirements:

1. Articles must be unpublished;
2. The ideas contained in the works are the authors' absolute responsibility;
3. The file must be prepared for blind evaluation: all authors identification must be removed;
4. The text should be accompanied by a summary in Portuguese with key words (from 3 to 5) and a summary in a foreign language (Spanish, English, French, German);
5. Contributions should be standardized as follows:

a) Page size: more or less 45 lines of about 70 touches per line, in single space.

b) Font: Times New Roman, body 12.

c) Spacing: simple space between lines and paragraphs; double space between parts of the text and between texts and examples, quotes, tables etc.

d) Adentration: paragraphs, examples, citations: one touch on the TAB key (= about five spaces).

e) Tables, illustrations (p & b) and attachments must be delivered ready to be photographed; for annexes of already published texts, include full bibliographic reference.

f) The bibliographic indications in the body of the text should be restricted to the last name of the author, the date of publication and the page, when necessary. Ex: (JAMESON, 1997, p.32)

g) The notes shall be kept to a minimum and placed at the bottom of the page. References to the footer should be made by numbers in the upper row.

h) References (only for works actually cited in the text) should be arranged as follows:

- Books:

Last name. Title in italics. Place of publication: Publisher, year of publication, cited page (p.) Or cited pages (p.).

Ex: COELHO, José Teixeira. Modern postmodern São Paulo: Iluminuras, 2001, p. 66.

- Book Chapters:
Last name. Chapter title (not highlighted). preposition In: SURNAME, Name (org.). Title of the book in italics. Place of publication: Publisher, date, page cited.
Ex:
LAJOLO, Marisa. Circulation and consumption of the Brazilian children's book: a marked path. In: KHÉDE, S. S. (Org.). Child-juvenile literature: a controversial genre. 2nd ed. Porto Alegre: Open Market, 1986. p. 43-56.

- News articles:

Last name. Title of the article (not highlighted). Title of the journal in italics, volume and journal number, Place, month (abbreviated) and year of publication, page cited.

Ex:
LOBO, Luiza. Tradition and rupture in criticism in Brazil: the survival of art and literary. Literature and Culture Magazine. v. 2, n.2, p. 1-10, 2002.

- Academic Thesis:

Last name. Thesis title in italics: subtitle. Type of work: Dissertation or Thesis (Masters or Doctorate, with indication of the area of ”‹”‹work) - Academic link, place and date of presentation of the defense, mentioned in the presentation sheet (if any), page cited.

Ex:

MACHADO, Maria Clara Tomaz. Popular culture and development in Minas Gerais: crossed paths of the same time (1950-1985). Thesis (PhD in Social History) FFLCH -USP, São Paulo, 1998, p. 40.

- Electronic documents:

AUTHOR (S). Title or Title: subtitle. Indications of responsibility. Date. Information about media description or media.

Note: for online documents, information about the electronic address, presented between the <> signs, preceded by the expression "available in" and the date of access to the document, preceded by the expression "access"
