A “Antropologia Social” de Edmundo Leach

Se fôssemos qualificar o livro mais recente de Leach* com uma única palavra, talvez a mais apropriada fosse "dispensável” . São raros os momentos neste livro que lembram a vitalidade intelectual dos trabalhos mais notáveis de Leach, como Sistemas Politicos de la Alta Birmania (originalmente publicado em 1954) e Repensando Antropologia (1961). Como foi dito uma vez sobre o velho Picasso, o mestre plagia-se a si mesmo e parece viver num mundo todo seu, involucrado numa sincronia ultrapassada.
