Esta é a história de uma estória que de tanto se repetir acabou por acontecer. É sobre a morte de um homem contada em boatos recorrentes, o último dos quais, dezesseis anos antes de se concretizar. Mas é também ”” na verdade, principalmente ”” um mergulho na intricada trama de encontros e desencontros deflagrada pela corrida do ouro que estourou na Área Indígena Yanomami em 1987 e que continua até hoje. Esse homem, um índio Maiongong chamado Lourenço, foi o pivot tanto dos boatos dos anos 70 quanto do tiroteio que o matou em 1990.
