The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is being implemented in most human activities, so its use in libraries is no exception. Despite this, there is little literature written on the subject, so this study mainly aims to clarify the following questions: a. How much has written about this in Latin America?, b. Which Latin American countries use AI in their work? and How have libraries adapted to the inclusion of these technologies? With these questions in mind, a bibliometric analysis of the literature published in the field of library science in Latin America is intended to be carried out to identify the participation and adoption of these technologies in library services and processes. With the information collected, an analysis is carried out to retrieve the literature hosted in databases, such as Web of Science and Scopus, that has been published in English or Spanish in the last five years, that has some record with a Latin American institution. The terms used for the retrieval were Library and Artificial Intelligence and Bibliometrics and Artificial Intelligence. Finally, the information is normalized with the support of tools such as Pajek and QGIS for the representation of the results, which clarify the participation of Latin America in the contributions on AI in the field of library science. However, the possible limitations lie in the use of these databases, since the publications obtained in LATAM are not always indexed in these pages, and the study contemplates a short period of time because technology is a science that presents changes and updates day by day, that is, innovations, applications and technological tools become obsolete quickly, presenting disruptive changes in the fields in which they can be applied. The research proposed here allows us to discuss the works published in the region, the producing countries, the topics of interest and areas of opportunity, in addition to contributing to developing the best practices in the discipline.
