Abstract

This paper describes the analytical and political itinerary of the anencephaly case at the Brazilian Supreme Court. My aim is to demonstrate how that case was based on a sharped combination of political, juridical and academic actions. Inspired by a documental and biographical narrative, I rebuild the anencephaly case itinerary in three historical acts (murmur, announcement and spectacle), which have preceded the final judgment by the Supreme Court in 2012.
