Abstract

The purpose of the text is to analyze the relationship between the Public Management of Historical Heritage in Brazil and Cultural Identity and to verify the pertinence and challenges of this relationship in the Brazilian heritage legislation and legal system. To this end, we work with the perspective of the existence of a felt, lived heritage and a heritage delimited by the public power, on which concepts in favor of cultural identity are associated, promoting a theoretical reflection of the interfaces established between memory, identity and heritage . We will seek to understand how these concepts are expressed in contemporary initiatives aimed at valuing cultural historical heritage.
