Abstract

The teaching of grammar has always been present in language teaching and learning. However, with the communicative approach, the teaching of forms was considered unnecessary to the learner. The aim of this article is to discuss the role that grammar has played in language teaching and learning and to verify, through error analysis, if there are differences in the learner´s performance when they learn the second and third conditionals in English for the first time or the second time.
