This study assessed the environmental impacts of adopting Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) by family farmers in Paraná, Brazil, using the Ambitec-Agro methodology. Six farmers were interviewed in two regions: the municipality of Paranaguá on the coast and the municipality of Lapa, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. The indicators analyzed included soil and water quality, biodiversity, environmental recovery, and food security. The results showed that SAFs provide significant benefits, such as increased biodiversity, improved soil fertility, and greater resilience of productive systems in the face of climate change. In addition, they promoted food diversification and the restoration of previously degraded areas. The Ambitec methodology proved effective in quantifying the ecosystem services generated. It is concluded that SAFs are a viable strategy to strengthen environmental sustainability and food security in family farming, serving as a basis for public policies aimed at sustainable rural development.
