Abstract

In order to face the Covid-19 pandemic in the municipality of Cunha/SP, the family farmers decided to stop selling at the weekly street market and opted for direct delivery with agroecological baskets in order to secure their income during the pandemic. The present study analyses these strategy changes through an economic and social point of view, especially the changes occurred in the dynamics of solidarity and cooperation among the group. The commercialization of the agroecological baskets did help farmers to keep a modest income even if their sales decreased compared to the amount sold before the beginning of the pandemic. Another positive aspect is also the new way of conducting business by learning how to use new technologies and new marketing strategies, which will be practiced even after the end of the pandemic.
