Gender of force through territorial heritage. Pomeranian women and immigration in Santa Maria de Jetibá-ES, Brazil

Santa Maria de Jetibá is located in the interior of Espírito Santo/Brazil and has been considered as the most pomeranian municipality in Brazil. The pomeranians have been recognized as “traditional people” and produce culture as a form of resistance to the coloniality of power. The main goal of this paper is to characterize the Pomeranian territorial heritage of the community of Santa Maria de Jetibá from the narratives of the Oase-Jequitibá women group. As a specific objective, the purpose is to understand forms of perpetuation and resistance of this heritage in the face of transformations in their territories, as well to understand its origins, traditions, knowledge and ways of life. The theoretical-exploratory research, with a qualitative approach, uses oral history and the evocation of memories of Pomeranian women as dialogical mechanisms of investigative practice. The research reveal the importance of memories and narratives for preservation of Pomeranian territorial heritage, as well as the importance of Pomeranian women in perpetuating and valuing their culture.
