Memories of lawyers in the June 2013 protests in Rio de Janeiro

Texto The objective of this text is to address activism in the legal profession, when political contestation occurs in the practice of the profession. Assuming that street lawyering will act to defend the freedom of demonstration, to defend the freedom to practice law and continue demonstrations. The methodology for the collection of the data is for participant observation, with interviews. In the second stage of the inquiry academic works, internet publications and specialized journals, among others, are collected. The approach in this work is close to the ones of Richard Abel (1984), Fernando Rojas Hurtado (1988) and Eliane Botelho Junqueira (2001), on alternative legal services and popular advocacy.
