Agrarian reform in Latin America: commentary on Michel Gutelman’s speech

This is the intervention made by Ruy Mauro Marini, after a conference by the French researcher Michel Gutelman, professor at the University of Paris and researcher on the Latin American agrarian situation, refuting his thesis according to which all agrarian reform is an essentially bourgeois measure. The debate took place during the symposium “Transition to socialism and the Chilean experience”, held in October 1971, in Santiago, which included debates on agrarian reform and was organized by the Center for Studies of National Reality (CEREN), of the Catholic University of Chile, and the Center for Socioeconomic Studies (CESO), of the University of Chile.
