Abstract
This essay starts from the debate about spirit among 20th century French philosophy in the light of Jacques Derrida's deconstruction, stressing relationship between speech, sign, blow and pneuma, on one hand, and writing, grapheme and trace, on the other, and taking Derridian position as a materialism. Based on that, it debates how to recover spectrality after deconstruction, in contrast with spirit of traditional metaphysics, and problematizes the question with Stefan Andriopoulos and Fabian Ludueña Romandini. Finally, it returns to the spirit to think in two ways - conflagration and sublimation - and from the keywords spirit/spectrum makes contrasts between two ways of contemporary thought, their cosmopolitical implications and their relationship with nihilism.
