Theoretical considerations about the literary production of contemporary Caribbean woman writers who have migrated to Canada and the United States, with emphasis on the literary representation of hyphenated identities influenced by the intersectionalities of gender, ethnicity and social class and conditioned by cultural and historical specificities; the intertwining of history and memory; the connections between the diasporic process and literary expression, migration and the re-writing of home; the relevance of (self-) representation for a recovery of the individual and collective past.
