AFRICA IN LISBON: REPRESENTATION OF THE POST-COLONIAL CITY

By using the concept of postcolonial city, the article analyses the representation of Lisbon in different cultural works: the poem Lisabona, by Luís Carlos Patraquim, and the play Museu do Pau Preto, by António Tomás, and the documentary film Os lisboetas, by Sérgio Trefaut. By highlighting the contradictions and the unbalances often omitted by the discourse of Lusofonia, all these works depict an image of the city that is radically distant from the representation of a lusophone and multicultural Lisbon.
