In this interview Anabel Galán-Mañas, lecturer and researcher in the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a member of the PACTE Group, talks about several issues on the academic training of translators, their challenges and improvements from the point of view of the Spanish and European academic systems in recent years, sharing her teaching and research expertise in the area. She approaches training problems highlighting translator’s insertion in the professional market and the impacts of new technologies on the performance of the translator, and she still discusses important topics for curriculum (re)design in translation programmes.
