The productive and technological transformations that took place in the last decades in Argentina,
promoted the specialization and intensification of production which emphasized factors related to
productivity, but relegated the integration between components. In systems of greater biodiversity, as
the mixed ones, you can find an inclusive management components and processes, which operates the
system as a whole. To verify this, we studied a mixed system of the central area of Córdoba, was
evaluated as follow: the mechanisms for addressing productivity, the contributions of organic waste,
regulating favorable or adverse biological agents and given subsidies. The analysis showed that a wide
and diverse trophic chain together with to a conservative management of soils, favors an natural pests
control, an important biological role in the integral fertility of the soil and favorable balance of organic
matter and nutrients. The sustainability of the system derives from a integrated management that
allows a stable productive capacity, saving imputs which improve energy efficiency and the reduction
of negative impacts.
