Abstract

Aiming to evaluate the productivity of pickling cucumber cultivars in production systems conventional and alternative, two experiments were conducted at Epagri, EE Ituporanga in randomized block with eleven cultivars and four replications. The experiments were carried out in October 2011 (conventional) and September 2012 (alternative). The cultivars Zapata, Ajax F1 and Monalisa F1 reached higher values of fresh mass of fruit per plant, average of 2.24 kg plant-1, conventional.  In the alternative cultivation the average fresh weight of fruits per plant of the two highest yielding cultivars (Amour F1, F1 Ajax) reached 1.26 kg plant-1. The cultivars Marinda, Amour F1 , Monalisa F1 , Zapata and Ajax F1 , obtained the highest yields of number of fruit per plant with values ranging from 68.65 to 83.64 (conventional) and Ajax F1 and Amour F1 (68.06 to 71.58) (alternative). The highest yields of commercial fruits ranged from 90.32 to 93.48% (conventional) and 70.78 to 87.28% (alternative).
