Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate Eugenia uniflora leaf extract, Calendula officinalis and Syzygium aromaticum flower extract and Bordeaux mixture applied in the preharvest strawberry for resistance induction. The work was carried out on the  rural property with agroecological farming system located in the municipality of Pérola D ́Oeste, and the laboratory of Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Câmpus Dois Vizinhos–PR. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replications. It consideried, in the field, 20 plants and in the postharvest 20 fruit by plot. The concentrations 10% and 1% were used in the plants extracts and Bordeaux mixture applied, respectively. In the harvest and after four days that fruit was storage in 24oC ± 2oC temperature condition were realized the evaluations. The rot incidence, fruit firmness, mass of fresh matter lost, soluble solids and titled acidity, totals and reducing sugars, protein level and phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) activity were evaluated. The Eugenia uniflora leaf extract, Calendula officinalis and Syzygium aromaticum flower extract, and Bordeaux mixture presented effect about soluble solids and titled acidity during the fruit harvest, as well as, the totals sugars in the postharvest. However, the treatment didn't influenced the rot incidence, fruit firmness, mass of fresh matter lost and PAL activity
