Allelopathy is the process by which secondary metabolites of a specific plant are released, potentially inhibiting or stimulating the growth of other plants in close proximity. This study aimed to assess the potential biological effects of extracts from different parts of Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray on the germination and initial development of two indicator species, Lactuca sativa L. and Cucumis sativus L. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, with four replications and five treatments, consisting of aqueous extracts of T. diversifolia: leaves [1], flowers [2], stems [3], aerial part [4] (leaves + flowers + stems), and previously boiled water [5], as a control. The treatment that resulted in the most significant effect was treatment 2, followed by treatment 4; however, the extracts inhibited radicle development in all treatments compared to the control. Plant extracts from different parts of T. diversifolia inhibited the growth parameters of L. sativa and C. sativus in the following order: flowers > aerial part > leaves > stems
