other elements of  importance for the functioning of the railways. Understanding these buildings as memory spaces, central in the functioning of the lines and, consequently, in social relations, the objective of this paper is to make some contributions to the identification of the historical value of the railway stations in their relationship with the cities, based on their impacts on urbanization processes, pointing out their importance, current conservation situacion and its new uses as an alternative for its preservation.
